BBP (Big Boi Printer)
Part of M.Arch Thesis, MIT SA+P, 2022. Advisor: Skylar Tibbits Readers: Marcelo Coelho,Caitlin Mueller, Nicholas de Monchaux
In imagining a future for integrated roll-to-roll textiles and 3D printing, I designed and fabricated the BBP to enable work with full-width fabrics.
In the spirit of open-source, all information regarding this design is public on GitHub.
With time and budget constraints, the goal of BBP was simply to meet the design projects’ needs. It eschewed the complete system design ambitions of RepRap or Clank, whilst certainly taking inspiration from them.
The resultant pritner is an amalgamation of various open-source projects, most notably Voron and Openbuilds, as well as custom-designed assemblies.
